INTRODUCING DURALEE DESIGNER: JOHN ROBSHAW BAY SHORE, NEW YORK – Romanticized by the allure of India and Asia, John Robshaw has captured the aesthetic of traditional artisans and translated it for the updated Western world through his textiles. Blending cultures and techniques, Robshaw has created his own signature look of sophisticated exoticism with designs that are new and fresh, and yet retain their sense of handmade tradition. For the first time, John has ventured into woven designs in addition to his signature prints, and Duralee is pleased to team with him to bring his worldly vision to their customers in this 4-book collection of coordinated fabrics. Separated into distinct color families, John Robshaw for Duralee reflects the colors of nature with a touch of the saturated tones of the East. Like the juxtaposition of stone and foliage, Charcoal/Moss Green combines the popular grey neutral with an accent of lively green. The search for natural indigo dye for his paintings led Robshaw to India, so it is only natural that this deep blue is a featured shade of his collection with Indigo/Turquoise. Stolen from spice markets and saris, the colors of Madder/Coral are a vibrant range from rich red to fuchsia. Anchoring the collection with shades of tan to chocolate brown, Umber/Khaki pays homage to desert sands, thatched roofs and teak forests. Of his products, Robshaw states, “by making textiles, I get to become a minor character in the lives of the people I work with, and I can take inspiration from what I see and do there. I go to their weddings, celebrate their festivals, I get sick with them, drink tea with them, and develop relationships with the people who are teaching me. When you look at my textiles, I want you to feel like you’ve been on the world tour along with me.” DURALEE®, dedicated to providing the building blocks to design, is headquartered in Bay Shore, NY, with showrooms nationwide and throughout the world.

This furniture converts from end table to stool and from coffee table to ottoman by exchanging insets. The coffee table/ottomans are available in several sizes. We love the extra large set, creating a massive four piece ottoman-coffee table! Both products are available in a great selection of high quality fabrics, including Waxed Canvas, Raw Silk, Wool, Flax, or Indoor/Outdoor Fabric and natural stones including Maine Granite, White Marble or Slate. The available sizes are: 24″w x 48″l x 18″h (2 insets), 18″w x 56″l x 14″h (3 insets), 18″w x 36″l x 14″h (2 insets), and 18″w x 18″l x 14″h (1 inset).
I am privileged to be friends with Susie Shapiro Laidlaw, the Maine furniture designer who manufacturers in Maine. Please contact me for pricing and options.

We are excited to see that Kravet has partnered with Kate Spade New York to offer fabulous fabrics, wonderful wallcoverings and decorative trimmings. Featured on this sofa is Owlish Black and on the bench pillow is Ocelot Dot Bluestone. Take note of Kate’s signature striped and polka dotted fabrics. Her use of color and textures on the upholstery fabrics is both appealing and practical. Other fabrics we love are Morningside Onyx and Micato Black. Owlish is available in wallcovering also and the dotted trimmings are terrific. Kate Spade and Kravet products are available through Interior Designers. Thibaut launched its Fine Furniture line at the Spring High Point Furniture Market in Showroom #315 located in Historic Market Square a couple of years ago. The quality of Thibaut Fine Furniture is comparable to the finest sofas, chairs, and ottomans in the industry, while reflecting a thoroughly Thibaut aesthetic. From the thoughtful styling, to the heft of the hardwood frames, to placing nail heads with precision, this line is true bench-made furniture built by American craftsmen with decades of experience and, now, Thibaut style.
There’s more to a fine frame than construction and components, as great furniture begins with great design. Pleasing proportions, comfortable scale and the perfect pitch of a back or seat have been considered while crafting these beautiful pieces. With such sleek and timeless shapes, Thibaut has created the perfect furniture collection to exhibit beautiful fabrics, especially from Thibaut’s own line.
Much like Thibaut’s popular wallpaper and fabric collections, every detail has been considered in the construction of its furniture line. Continuing with its commitment to American Made Products, Thibaut’s top quality hardwood frames have been made from kiln-dried poplar and maple harvested from sustainable forests in the United States. Double-cone coil springs are tied eight ways and to the middle of the rail —not to the top—for a better “ride.” Joints are double-doweled and glued with angled corner blocks at each corner, to provide extra strength and stability. These are hallmarks of a sturdy, well-constructed frame.
In addition to building durable and stylish frames, Thibaut has considered all aspects of a tailored piece of furniture. Fourteen wood stain and fourteen premium paint finishes are available, in addition to the option of any Benjamin Moore paint color, as options for finishing exposed wood pieces, providing thousands of custom finishing options. Spring Down Seat Cushions, which are considered the finest in the industry, are standard on most pieces with no upcharge. Four-Way Pattern Matching is the standard for flow matching, ensuring that your Thibaut print looks its best.
Here are some of the fabulous ottomans by Thibaut Designs. One of the rectangular benches below would look great at the foot of a bed. The round ottomans work well as coffee tables in front of a sofa. The full line can be viewed at http://www.thibautdesigns.com. Please let me know if I can assist you in selecting and purchasing one of Thibaut’s ottomans. Permission has been granted by Thibaut Designs to link to their website and to display their images.

I am so happy we got our power and cable back just in time to see the amazing opening ceremony of the Olympics.
The artistic expression of the history of Russia captivated me. As some of you know, I love classical ballet. Russian culture has contributed so much to the performing arts and literature.
The Carlysle Chair shown on the right is by Thibaut Furniture. The chair is available through me as an Interior Designer. I love the geometric pattern on the chair back.
Please contact me for a consult or visit Thibaut’s website to see more of their fabulous products including fabric, wallcoverings and furniture.

Did you ever consider using an ottoman instead of a cocktail table in your living room?
This one is so practical in leather with an additional storage shelf and beautiful brass wheeled casters.
Books and magazines are accessible without a cluttered look. The casters also allow the ottoman to move easily.
This piece of furniture has both form and function!
